The Waverley Singers is a choral society based in Farnham, with members and supporters from a wide area of Surrey and Hampshire. We are a long-established, friendly and enterprising choir of about 90 singers, giving concerts to a high standard. We are directed by Richard Pearce and our rehearsal accompanist is Jakob Rothoff, who sometimes also joins us in concerts (biographies here). Our aim is to share the joy of choral music!
We perform four or more concerts a year, in Farnham, Alton and elsewhere in West Surrey and East Hampshire, with professional direction, soloists and instrumentalists, as well as occasional more distant events and tours.
We have returned following the pandemic to our usual Thursday rehearsal venue, South Farnham School (What3Words: yours.sound.warm)

Our Mission
Waverley Singers aim to share the joy of choral singing by rehearsing, socialising and performing together. We rehearse and perform with professional accompaniment and direction, and engage professional soloists, orchestras and instrumental groups for our major concerts, usually one or two a year.
As well as our own performances, we sometimes collaborate with other choirs, such as the Romsey Choral Society with which we presented the Verdi Requiem 'home' and 'away', in Guildford Cathedral and Romsey Abbey, in recent years. We also arrange occasional open events, such as a workshop on Bach's great Mass in B minor, held in January 2020, which attracted almost 150 singers.
We aim to arrange a tour of some sort in alternate years, the most recent being in 2019 when we visited Vienna and Slovakia. Our next tour is scheduled for July 2024.
