Description
We're delighted to announce that our long-awaited performance of Bach's wonderful Mass in B minor will take place at St Andrew's Garrison Church, Aldershot on Saturday 18th June at 7:30 pm. This is the one that we were ready to perform in March 2020, but had to postpone as we recognised that the rapid spread of COVID-19 posed huge dangers for performers and audience. At last - we can go ahead!
Our soloists are
Isabelle Atkinson - Soprano
Elizabeth Green - Soprano
Bernadette Johns - Alto
Harry Grigg - Tenor
Johannes Moore - Bass
The orchestra is the Brandenburg Baroque Soloists, and we will be conducted by our Director of Music, Richard Pearce.
Tickets can be booked through TicketSource - £20 premium or £15 general in advance, £17 general on the door if available (no card charges). Students and U18s £5. Free tickets are available for U16s (conditions apply) who are accompanied by an adult. For these, or for reserved seats for wheelchairs and carers, please contact [email protected].
Why You Should Attend
This magnificent work isn't performed locally very often. Our five fine young soloists, all supported by the Josephine Baker Trust, are either undertaking or have recently completed their postgraduate studies in music in London. We have a fantastic orchestra of some of the best baroque players in the country. The acoustic at St Andrew's Garrison Church is good. And tickets start at only £15. We hope you will take the opportunity to come and hear it.
