An award-nominated, contemporary, mixed-voice choir based in Stratford Upon Avon.
Our History
Amicantus Choir was established in October 2012 by Musical Director, Maddy Evans, after she discovered that a wealth of musical talent lay within a number of theatre societies and vocal groups in Warwickshire.
Whilst Amicantus is in its relative infancy, each member brings an average of 20 years of experience to create a synergy of sound that has been very carefully crafted thanks to Miss Evans’ refined arranging abilities that reveal the very best in everyone involved.
A number of members have been professionally trained and have studied Music at Degree level, with Miss Evans having read at Birmingham Junior Conservatoire and the University of Manchester. Graduating with a MusB honours degree and LLCM diploma. Amicantus has already performed at a number of events in and around the Midlands, to great acclaim, including a date at the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market on the main bandstand at a prime time slot, with another date to come. They also have a number of other bookings that will take them into a future that holds great promise.
Testament to the talent that is within the choir is borne out by the diverse repertoire that is performed. From Mozart and Rutter to Take That and Snow Patrol, Amicantus constantly strive to achieve the highest pinnacle of musical excellence and hope to build on the solid foundation that they have forged for themselves.
