The choir, under the direction of Christopher Dawes, the Choir has approximately 100 members, and performs at a level normally associated with professional groups. The choir performs a mixed genre of musical works and has performed at such locations as Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.
Our History
The Georgetown Choral Society is thrilled to announce that prominent musician and Georgetown resident Christopher Dawes, Acting Artistic director since 2017, has committed to a long-term position as Artistic Director of the choir. Chris is a unique musician and thinker who is numbered among Canada’s leading church musicians, concert organists, and collaborative musicians. His career takes him across musical lines few of his colleagues cross, encompassing classical and popular styles and eras. He has received an enthusiastic welcome from both the GCS and the audiences
