The Twin Cities Women’s Choir is a non-auditioned choral group for women who love to come together in song. We celebrate our diversity of ages, ethnicities, incomes, backgrounds, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, and abilities. We build community for our singers by mastering music together in a supportive environment, and for our audience through joyful performances several times each year.
Our History
The Twin Cities Women’s Choir (TCWC) began in August 1997 with a volunteer director, accompanist, 14 singers, and $200 to purchase music. A Board of Directors was formed in 1998 to manage choir business and obtain 501(c)(3) status. Singer and audience member counts climbed as word spread about the choir’s diverse repertoire, connection with the audience due largely to memorization of music, and strong community of caring women whose enjoyment of singing together could be seen on our faces and heard in our voices.

Additional Info for Choristers
We rehearse every Wednesday from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church at 511 Groveland Ave. Minneapolis, MN. There is a parking lot in the side of the church and the entrance door located off of the parking lot. We do one Saturday morning rehearsal a month from 9:00am-12:00pm where we hold sectional rehearsals. The final week before a concert always includes a dress rehearsal the day prior to the event.
There is no fee to participate, however we encourage you to help us offset costs by donating to the choir. We suggest a contribution of $720/year or $60/month (12-months) but we understand that may not be feasible for everyone. No one is turned away due to financial ability. We instead ask that you select an amount that you are comfortable with, for your situation, and give if you are able. We fully honor and recognize all contributions, including your time.
Our Mission
Our mission is evident in all facets of our rehearsal process and performances and is fully supported by the commitment of our singers and our audience.
