Jake Alexander is a composer, choir director, singer and multi-instrumentalist from St Ives, Cornwall. He arranges most of the choir’s music, and occasionally accompanies the group on guitar, ukulele or percussion.
In addition to leading Quaggy Community Choir, Jake conducts Raised Voices, a protest choir based in North London, Greenwich Foundation Choir, the workplace choir of the Old Royal Naval College, and is the co-founder of Crib Notes, a daytime parents’ choir.
Biography
Jake performs extensively on the electric cello, and has written and recorded music for a wide variety of projects, incorporating radio, theatre and contemporary dance. He is the musical director of Dancing Strong, a company that specialises in choreographing work for young audiences, and he forms one half of alt-folk duo, The Sea Kings.
