Kara Santokie has been singing since the age of three. She plays the piano and cello and she has played for audiences in several countries. She has also taught music and singing to both youth and adults. Kara has sung with the Chanticleer Choir and the Chorus at the University of Oxford, and she was the Director of a women’s choir at the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh.
Biography
Kara studied at the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics and Political Science. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Toronto and she is currently the Director of Toronto Women’s City Alliance, where she works towards the inclusion of women’s voices in public life. Her work has led her to be featured in the Toronto Star, NOW Magazine, CTV News, CP24 and the CBC, among others.
