Sebastian Valentine, the founder and musical director of Teddington Chamber Choir, was born in Bristol and studied at the Royal College of Music, gaining his BMus in singing in 2005. Since then he has enjoyed a varied career as a singer and conductor, which has seen him perform across Europe and the United States.
He is a versatile singer, having sung roles in Verdi, Mozart and Gilbert and Sullivan as well as musicals. He has performed as a soloist for many choral societies across the UK, even on occasion singing the bass solos while conducting a concert.
Biography
Sebastian began conducting in 2004 and founded the Hyde Park Chamber Orchestra. He has since conducted orchestral concerts, operas and vocal music, including Handel's Julius Caesar and Britten's Noye's Fludde. Continuing with his track record of setting up musical groups from scratch, Sebastian recently founded the Blue Light Symphony Orchestra - the only UK orchestra made up entirely of emergency service personnel.
