Lumina is a Western Australian ensemble specialising in sacred choral music.
Under the direction of Cameron van Reyk the ensemble has developed a reputation for exceptional quality in sound and performance. Each of the ensemble’s eight members have extensive experience in music and are passionate about performing exquisite choral works which range from polyphony of the Renaissance period to the composers of today.
Some of Lumina’s performing highlights have been singing at St. Patrick’s Basilica Fremantle, by invitation of the Vice Chancellor of Notre Dame, and premiering a Mass setting by Benedictine Monk Rosendo Salvado (1814-1900) at the Bicentennial Foundation Day Mass at New Norcia.
More recently, Lumina have collaborated with other local choral singers, conducting workshops and performing a combined concert with St Elizabeth of the Trinity Choir and the Holy Spirit Choir of Notre Dame University.
Lumina have recently recorded their premiere album. This premiere recording is one part of Lumina’s mission to bring their youthful enthusiasm for sacred music to a wider audience.
