About Durham Community Choir

Durham Community Choir is a non-auditioned community choir, we welcome into our membership anyone 16 years of age or older who loves and wants to sing. As a small community arts organization, Durham Community Choir relies primarily on participant fees and concert ticket sales to fund its operations. The realities of this time of coronavirus—no in-person singing, no in-person concerts, reduced participation in virtual rehearsals—have put a severe strain on the choir's finances. While we have done our best to reduce expenses, our revenue has also been greatly reduced, and we find ourselves in a very challenging position.

We believe we make a valuable contribution to the Durham Region community—through music education, performance, and community-building. Durham Community Choir was the recipient of a 2020 Metroland Readers' Choice award for Musical Instruction.
