Exultate Singers is an accomplished chamber choir of 45 singers based in Bristol, founded in September 2002 by its conductor, David Ogden. It has gone on to perform in more than 150 concerts, broadcasts on BBC Radios 2, 3, 4, the World Service and Classic FM and has appeared on BBC's Songs of Praise and The One Show.
The choir is known for its engaging, entertaining and consistently high quality performances, making use of performance venues' spatial effects with singers placed in different positions around the hall or church throughout concerts. For particular pieces of music, the singers encircle the audience, enveloping it with stunning live surround sound, a spellbinding experience.
Our History
Exultate Singers is based in Bristol in the UK and was founded in September 2002 by its conductor, David Ogden. It has gone on to perform in more than 150 concerts, broadcasts on BBC Radios 2, 3, 4, the World Service and Classic FM and has appeared on BBC's Songs of Praise and The One Show.
Exultate Singers has recorded three albums: Visions of Peace (2005), A Time For Singing (2008) and All Shall Be Well (Naxos, 2012) which includes the title track by Roxanna Panufnik and was featured on BBC Radio 3's In Tune. The CD was also selected as the Essential CD of the Week on Rob Cowan's Essential Classics on BBC Radio 3.
Exultate Singers was chosen by the BBC to represent the UK in the semi-finals of the international choral competition, Let The Peoples Sing 2013. The choir has commissioned music from Roxanna Panufnik, Philip Moore, Ian Carpenter and the Finnish composer Jaakko Mäntyjärvi.
