Kantorei Choral Society

As one of MRU Conservatory’s choral ensembles, Mount Royal Kantorei offers a diverse and innovative choral experience to its members and audiences. The chorus has been making exceptional choral music for 26 years. A mixed-voice, auditioned choir of 70 members from all walks of life embrace the musical journey together, while building community, engaging audiences through first-class performances, and empowering social impact by fostering collaborations.

For the past seven years, the talented John Morgan, Artistic Director, has led the choir and greatly influenced the adventurous ensemble’s growing reputation for musical excellence, be it classic, contemporary, or Canadian. With his passion for music education and performance, John works across multiple musical genres and cultivates outstanding creativity and collaboration.

Kantorei performs in the stunning Bella Concert Hall - Taylor Centre for Performing Arts at Mount Royal University, where wonderful acoustics showcase the choir’s clear, rich harmonies and venues throughout Calgary.
