We are a four-voice mixed adult choir located in Coquitlam, B.C. Our mandate is to promote Franco-Canadian culture through singing. We welcome all singers who love to sing in French & other languages as well. The repertoire is as rich as it is diverse, ranging from Renaissance to contemporary. Marla Mayson is our awesome talented conductor.
It was in 1973, in Maillardville, that some French-speaking amateur singers created the Les Echos du Pacifique choir. they attended Expo 86 in Vancouver. In 1989, our choir accompanied Gilles Vigneault to the Orpheum during his stay in Vancouver. We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a tour of Quebec. We marked our 25th anniversary with a recording, made at Radio-Canada studios, entitled Already 25 Years. On our 30th anniversary, we performed a musical comedy concert for the last 30 years. The choir reached the quarter-finals, cultural tradition category, of the CBC's amateur choral singing contest in 2004. In 2009-2010, Les Échos du Pacifique, still vibrant and lively, participated in various celebrations, including the 100th anniversary of Maillardville and the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver as welll as the Festival du Bois.
