We are a community choir which meets the fourth Saturday of each month (not August or December) at 10.30 a.m. at Amida Mandala Buddhist Temple, Great Malvern. Our repertoire is mainly part songs and rounds related to Pureland Buddhism but we are open to all who enjoy singing (under 16s need to be accompanied by a responsible adult).
Our History
The starting point of the choir was a set of hymns written by Andrew Cheffings on retreat at Amida Mandala Buddhist Temple in 2016. The Rev. Satya Robyn suggested compiling a hymn book but Amdrew suggested that to find which hymns would work for a hymn book the temple could have a community choir to test out the hymns. We started meeting together in the winter of 2016-17 and have performed at Worcester Hospital and Holland House (Anglican) Retreat Centre.
