MCC “SRBADIJA” has been established in 1898. and renewed in 1992.
The Choir repertoire is exceptionally abundant, collecting spiritual and secular works of domestic and worldly established compositors. The Choir is an organizer of an international festival of choir music “May music festival”, which is held annually constantly since 2002. Besides singing in Saint Liturgies in past twenty years, the Choir has performed in many domestic and international festivals and competitions.
MCC “SRBADIJA” is a holder of numerous awards by Serbian Orthodox Church, among which is the Saint Sava medal of second and third order. The Choir has won various international bronze, silver and golden awards in competitions in Hungary, Austria, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Greece, Spain, Italy etc. Te president of Republic of Srpska has honored the Choir Njegos’s medal of first order, during the 110th celebration of Choir’s establishment. The Choir participated in many different humanitarian concerts, as well as in important events such as celebration of 860 years of the city of Moscow, in August of 2007. On the international Choir ranking created by Interkultur Foundation – Musica Mundi, Choir „SRBADIJA“ holds highest position among choirs from the region.
