Stone Mountain Chorus is a community men’s chorus, its mission devoted to “enriching lives through vocal harmony,” while promoting the barbershop style of a cappella singing. The Chorus along with its Barbershop Quartets produces two ticketed shows each year in spring and fall, and competes in Spring and Fall Contests in the Dixie District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
In addition to the two major productions, the Chorus participates in various festivals and other venues in the Atlanta area, visits assisted living centers in December to entertain with Christmas carols, and sends barbershop quartets to deliver Singing Valentines. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales is directed to FOCUS, an Atlanta charity which supports children with challenging medical or developmental conditions and their families.
Our History
Stone Mountain Chorus is the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Established in 1981, the Chorus has been an active part of the Atlanta music community for over four decades.
We enjoy the challenge of creating great vocal harmony, and the camaraderie of singing together, working toward a common artistic goal. Each rehearsal and performance is designed to celebrate our core values - Harmony, Fellowship, Fun! We also support Atlanta charity FOCUS with weekly donations and a portion of ticket sales. Plus, singing in a Barbershop Quartet is a blast, you should join and try it!
