We are a 4 part harmony choir of men and women. We are based in Hobart, Tasmania and average about 25 - 30 singers. The choir has been going for nearly 30 years. As well as a Music Director we have an accompanist on the piano. At our concerts we are sometimes accompanied by other various instruments. We sing a variety of songs from contemporary to swing, mowtown, simple classical. We have at least one major concert a year plus Christmas carols at 'Carols by Candlelight.' We have participated in 'Festival of Voices' - a large festival held annually in Hobart that attracts artists from all over the world.
The Tasmanian Song Company always welcomes new singers, so if you live in or near Hobart and are thinking of joining a choir we would be delighted to hear from you. Your first three rehearsals are free - come try us out and see if we are the right fit.
Additional Info for Choristers
We rehearse Mondays from 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm in the Meeting Room of Lenah Valley Community Hall. That's on Creek Road, opposite Lenah Valley Primary School and it backs on to the John Turnball Oval. Enter via the side door around the right hand side of the building towards the back.
