The Ambiance Singers is a vibrant and passionate group of twenty women who gather together to celebrate their love of music. Audiences of the choir are treated to a salute to musical genres from Broadway to Swing, Gospel to R&B and Pop.
The Ambiance Singers is a vibrant and passionate group of women who gather together to celebrate their love of music. Audiences of the choir are treated to a salute to musical genres from Broadway to swing, gospel to R & B, and enjoy feature guest appearances. Such luminaries as JUNO-nominated vocalist Heather Bambrick, Canada’s Sweetheart of Swing Alex Pangman, and renowned trumpeter Guido Basso have performed with the group.
The ensemble is under the leadership of Musical Director, Brigham Phillips, a well-known leader of the accomplished Brigham Phillips Big Band, composer, bandleader, musician and educator. The Ambiance Singers are known for their Mother’s Day event at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. The Singers also perform regularly at Black Creek Pioneer Village’s Christmas by Candlelight program and at a multitude of private and corporate events.
Founded in the 1980’s as a community choir by Earl Nelham, The Ambiance Singers have enjoyed entertaining the people of Mississauga and the GTA for over 35 years. Today, we’re still excited to sing for all of you all year long! Be sure to join us at our spring charity concert in May each year!
Singers Wanted!! The Ambiance Singers is a group of twenty women of all ages who love to learn and to sing a wide variety of genres of popular music.
We meet regularly from September to June in Mississauga, Ontario to rehearse with our Musical Director, Danny McErlain, and to socialize and have fun.
We perform in May and June, and over the Christmas season in Mississauga and the Greater Toronto area.

Who can join? Women of all ages who love to sing and have fun. Being able to read music is helpful but not necessary. Come try us out for a few rehearsals free of charge and with no obligation. After attending 3 rehearsals, you will be asked to sing a piece of music to the Musical Director to confirm section placement.
What kind of music do you sing? We sing almost any kind of music you can imagine - the latest Broadway show tunes, timeless ballads, country, jazz and gospel.
Where and when do you rehearse? Our main rehearsals are held in Mississauga, Ontario near the Dundas/Mavis Road area. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. As we get closer to our annual Spring charity concert date, we have extra practice sessions and full band rehearsals.
Do you sing all year? We rehearse regularly from September to June with time off for the Christmas holidays. We have two main seasons: Spring and Christmas. Each season has a set of show music and a series of performances profiling that music. New members usually join the choir in September or January.
Where do you perform? Our main annual charity concert is held in the spring at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. We perform our Christmas music annually at the Black Creek Pioneer Village Christmas by Lamplight event. In addition, we perform for Coprorate and private functions at a variety of other venues in Mississauga and the Greater Toronto area.
