A Handful of Harmonies is a singing group for women of all ages. There are no auditions, no solo singing and backing tracks are only used during performances. The session music is always live and tailored to the group. Our sessions are fun and offer a chance to meet new friends. Why not come to a practice session and see if it’s for you? www.handfulofharmonies.co.uk
Our History
The choir began in July 2011 as a six week trial. It has grown and grown and is now five sessions per week at various locations around South Lincolnshire. We also run bespoke workshops during the holidays and have weekend sessions for the back catalogue and show choir.
For some ladies it is simply an opportunity to get together with like minded people and enjoy the value of singing. For others is it a personal challenge; we have enjoyed many opportunities to perform locally with visiting celebrities and also several outings to the West End of London!!
We regularly perform in our local area and have recorded three CDs to capture some of our proudest moments.
Singing is known to bring health benefits, and music in general lifts the mood. Our members have made new friends and enjoy social activities over and above the singing.
Each group covers the same material so that if you cannot attend your regular session you can catch up at one of the others. There is great flexibility within this choir, it is informal but professional at the same time, and probably worth mentioning that when we all get together in fine voice we make a fantastic sound!!
Additional Info for Choristers

Our Mission
A Handful of Harmonies is a hobby with a difference! The group gives women from 16 to 70+ the opportunity to share the joy and proven health benefits of singing with like-minded people in a fun and creative environment.
Weekly sessions, under the instruction of a highly enthusiastic and experienced Natural Voice Practitioner and registered British Voice Association teacher, will provide opportunities for you to sing in harmony, discover new techniques and to improve your musicality, understanding and appreciation of music. With your newly found confidence, you will tackle more complicated and challenging musical arrangements and enjoy hearing the finished result – just for pleasure!
Whilst we “work” hard these sessions are enjoyable social events. There is discipline and structure but also fun, laughter and a strong sense of teamwork as we rehearse songs from a variety of genres, performing new musical arrangements to suit a variety of tastes. No previous experience is required but enthusiasm is a must.
Weekly sessions, as well as a programme of holiday and "catch-up" workshops, are held every week for 90 minutes per week and timings and venues of these can be found in the locations section of the site. Unlike other choirs you are not committed to a particular day or time - you have the complete freedom to pick and choose.
With a variety of payment and membership options you can choose to do as much or as little as you like to suit you and your lifestyle. There is absolutely no requirement to perform although this is an option and full support and online resources are available at no extra cost to support your learning.
