Since its founding, the choir has built a name for its performances, strong community ties, and commitment to charitable causes.
Our History
The choir was founded 17 years ago and is open to men of all ages and like many male voice choirs, Cirencester Male Voice Choir offers a strong sense of camaraderie, with members forming lasting friendships as they rehearse and perform together. The choir is non-auditioned, meaning that anyone with a passion for singing and a commitment to the group can join.
Whether you’re an experienced singer or a newcomer, the choir provides opportunities to develop vocal skills under the guidance of experienced conductors.
The choir’s musical direction plays a significant role in its success. Under the direction of acclaimed concert pianist James Willshire and accompanist Louise Matley they have refined their sound and develop a versatile and powerful choral performance.

Why You Should Join
Many people, when asked about joining a choir will usually reply “Oh I’d love to but I can’t sing”. The thing is, this just isn’t true. Everyone can sing.
It’s not really that different from speaking. We all have a different voice and at Cirencester Male Voice Choir we aren’t looking for professional tenors or baritones who have performed at the Royal Opera House. (Not that we’d say no to them!)
We have a talented Music Team who have long experience in teaching and trained to help singers of all levels, whether you have performed publicly or just bellowed in the bath.
Singing in a choir offers a wide range of benefits, not only for your mental and emotional well-being but also for your physical health, social connections, and even cognitive development. Whether you’re a seasoned vocalist or a beginner, joining a choir can be a rewarding and enriching experience.
