About Our Choir

Now celebrating its 50th season, Peel Choral Society was the first non-auditioned Adult Community Choir in Brampton. The choir is comprised of some 55 multi-talented and dedicated volunteer singers from the community, a professional accompanist and an experienced professional conductor.

Members are drawn from all walks of life and reflect the diverse social fabric of this dynamic region. Brampton brings various professional ensembles and soloists from outside Brampton, only Peel Choral Society represents this community’s own high level of choir-making. Peel Choral performs works ranging from the popular song to Broadway and jazz repertoires.

Additional Info for Choristers

The Peel Choral Society is a non-auditionned choir. Reading music is a welcomed asset! Peel choristers rehearse every Monday evening at Emmanuel United Church, (420 Balmoral Drive, Brampton, Ontario) from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Our performing year is September thru May. The choir takes a break for the months of December, June, July and August.

The choir performs two concerts per year in addition to local community and fund-raising events. Choristers may be requested to attend a few extra rehearsals prior to a concert.

MISSION:

To delight and entertain audiences with heartwarming and inspirational performances of popular choral music contributing to the enrichment of the arts and culture fabric within the City of Brampton

To offer a welcoming choral community presenting a wide spectrum of popular choral repertoire in the City of Brampton

To provide an accessible musical organization for less experienced singers who aspire to grow and develop in an encouraging and nurturing choral environment

To ensure the organizational capacity and financial sustainability of the choir

To foster audience development by delivering effective pricing, promotion, location and branding

VISION:

We are Brampton’s original Community Choir, enhancing the Arts and Culture of the city by sharing our love of singing in different accessible choral music genres for diverse communities. As a non- auditioned choir, we welcome all levels of singers to develop their vocal talent and discover the joy of singing.

A fun, welcoming, inclusive, and supportive choir which is open to all singers 18 years of age and older.

A choir which strives for performance excellence through personal and collective dedication.

A choir which believes that choral music can change and inspire the singers and listeners.

An active organization within the City of Brampton’s arts and culture community.

A choir which has a sustainable organizational and financial structure.
