COSA Canada and Mount Allison University have created an experience for singers and collaborative pianists to grow and thrive in today's changing world. It is presented in two pathways: The "Artist on the Rise" pathway, for grade 12, undergraduate and avocational singers, and the "Emerging Professional Artist" pathway for graduate-level artists and beyond.
The geographical location is an invitation to deep learning - nestled in our beautiful Sackville campus in Canada's Atlantic provinces. This immersive singing environment is focussed on process, where the end product is YOU, emerging an informed and capable artist armed with transferable skills for career resilience!
This program offers interactive workshops on career-building, making your way as an artist - in - and outside of the arts, networking strategies, best practices for auditioning, arts advocacy, and communicating with charisma, confidence, and authenticity. The world-renowned voice and coaching faculty will design collaborative and personalized lessons and provide opportunities to develop as a compelling storyteller and artist.
Our History
History Centre for Opera Studies and Appreciation
We founded The Centre for Opera Studies & Appreciation in 2006 and incorporated it in 2009 to create essential experiences and training for Canada’s young and emerging opera artists. We grew enthusiastic audiences each step of the way, event after event, and excitement after excitement.
Through our many performances and formats - house concerts, operas in concert, opera pops, stage premieres of new productions, church and school concerts, doorstep serenades, public masterclasses, and restaurant "Opera Night" events, we are making all the difference in lifting the lives of our audience members, artists, and hosts.
