The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir aims to provide a creatively fulfilling, safe and healthy environment that is inclusive of people who identify as various races, genders, abilities, and sexual orientations
The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir is proud to be one of Canada’s oldest, largest, and most recognized choral ensembles, renowned for over 125 years for delivering the highest standard of musical performance. We invite you to experience our concerts, educational and community engagement programs. All are welcome here.
Founded in 1894 by Augustus Vogt. Celebrated our 125th anniversary with a Gala concert in 2019. The TMC has performed great choral music from five centuries - from classical symphonic masterworks to motets and contemporary works. The Choir, over its long history, premiered many classical masterpieces in Canada. TMC has also commissioned a number of works from Canadian composers.
Since March 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic, the Choir has continued to present creative online programs that bring together choral music with other arts. The programs are available on demand: https://www.tmchoir.org/webcasts/
The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir (TMC) is committed to providing Canadian and global audiences with an exceptional classical choral experience. Through our performances and educational programs, for over 125 years, we have focused on making choral masterworks available, accessible, and inspirational to all listeners, performers and participants.
