Hudson Chorale Concert: Hensel, Vivaldi, Mozart

“What is a human?” Come hear Hudson Chorale give Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s answer in a performance of her sublime cantata Hiob, with text from The Book of Job. This work has been all but silenced for two centuries by the prominence of her famous brother. We delight in contributing to Hensel’s long overdue appreciation as a major artist of the nineteenth century.

Due to happenstance in choral history, Vivaldi’s Gloria (RV 588) is not as frequently performed as the ever-popular (RV 589), but it is every bit as vibrant and wonderful.

And come to hear the exquisite melodies and exciting fugues of Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de Confessore (“Solemn Vespers”), a work whose intricate and profound beauties have been recognized and beloved since its creation in 1780.

Hudson Chorale, under the baton of Artistic Director David Baranowski, will perform with orchestra and soloists Francesca Federico, soprano; Allison Gish, contralto; Joseph Klebanoff, tenor; Richard Lippold, bass.

The concerts will be on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 at 3pm at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 25 North Broadway, Irvington, NY 10533

Tickets can be purchased for $30 each from members of the Hudson Chorale, or through https://bit.ly/juneconcert
