The Calgary Men's Chorus is made of 40 guys who sing everything from Michael Jackson to Mozart under the direction of Malcolm Edwards. If you haven’t heard the CMC perform, we invite you to come experience the distinctive and powerful sound of an all-male choir. And if you like what you hear, why not come sing with us!
Our History
Since its inception in 1994 (Incorporation followed in January of 1997), the Calgary Men’s Chorus has sought to broaden its audience and to establish its place in the Calgary Arts Community. While welcoming men of all orientations and birth genders, a majority of our members are from Calgary`s LGBT community. CMC supports many causes but continues to be an important and visible component of the LGBT community.
The accomplishments of the Chorus are numerous, more than can be listed here. CMC has had the opportunity to support the fund-raising efforts of many local organizations, most recently Camp fYrefly, the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, Child Find Alberta, AIDS Calgary, Calgary Health Trust (Sing for the Cure in 2010), the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank, and the Carewest Music Therapy Program at their Calgary Sings event.
