The Mon Yough Chorale is a non-sectarian group of singers. We perform for many organizations in and around the Western Pennsylvania area. Anyone wishing to sing is welcome and invited to come to a rehearsal prior to committing to the group. No auditions are necessary.
We also sing in a yearly competition called Saengerfest held in June each year. Members chorus' are: Altoona, Williamsport, Reading, Lebanon and Mon Yough. Each chorus hosts the competition on a rotating basis.
The Mon Yough Chorale was formerly known as the Mon Yough Community Singers. The Mon Yough Chorale has a long history in the Mon Valley. The organization started as The McKeesport Choraliers in the 1960's, merging with the White Oak Community Singers in 2001 to become the Mon Yough Community Singers.
In 2015, the group decided it was time for change and reorganized under the new name - Mon Yough Chorale. The group looks forward to a new start and many years of creating music to satisfy the many different types of audiences we perform for throughout the area.
If you have sung in high school and / or college and miss being part of a chorus or choir, you should join us. For more information and inform us of your interest, go to https://www.monyoughchorale.org/membership-information/
