Aaaaaand it’s a wrap! ✨

Huge thanks to Darius Lim and Voices of Singapore for having us for the second time! It was an eye-opening experience to be performing alongside other professional choirs and listening to a diverse range of repertoire.

Tonight, Vox Camerata presented three songs.

The first song was a love song - The Coolin from The Reincarnations suite composed by Samuel Barber. Next, we performed Aka Tombo (‘Red Dragonfly’) arranged by Artistic Director Shahril Salleh. This song speaks of childhood nostalgia and pays tribute to the loss of a loved one – the memory of his departed father. Finally, we sang Lully Lulla Lullay composed by British composer Philip Stopford. Sung from a mother’s perspective, the heart-wrenching lullaby tells the story of the Massacre of the Innocents - when King Herod ordered all male infants under the age of two to be killed. We dedicate this song to victims of the recent Christchurch shooting.

Thanks to all who spent your Tuesday night with us!
